Our range of cakes has been developed from a passion for food and a desire for indulgent treats to fit into our healthy and aware lifestyle. We use Doves Farm organic spelt flour (an ancient unadulterated flour which is the mother of wheat), (or the Doves Farm gluten free alternative where appropriate), coconut oil (the healthiest oil on earth) and raw cane sugar (or agave nectar, a wonderful natural sweetener by Groovy Foods). We never use artificial products or preservatives, although all cakes have a natural 2 week shelf life.
Taste is first and foremost for us when we’re creating our recipes. So many people are deterred from eating free-from or vegan foods because of an unfounded pre-conception or previous bad experience with the taste or texture of a product. We want to re-introduce more and more people to great tasting, premium and indulgent treats.
At The Heavenly Cake Company we make ‘permissible indulgent’ foods. They are premium products that offer luxury and convenience. The BBC Food website states: “Making a good dairy-free sponge cake without eggs is one of the most difficult vegan cakes to master. The role of the egg in a sponge recipe is to bind the ingredients together, and it needs to be replaced to stop your sponge from turning into a tough inedible disaster.” We have mastered the art – without relying on egg replacers - and are happy to create cakes “for the universe”.
We also make wedding cakes, birthday cakes, christening or blessing cakes, in fact for all your celebration cakes. What about gift cakes? You can have cup cakes gift wrapped and sent to make somebody’s day, whether in hospital or wherever they are, a Heavenly Cake will put a smile on their face.
